At BHMTS - we have FUN!
Burgess Hill Musical Theatre Society (BHMTS) has been entertaining the local Mid-Sussex Community since 1953 with high quality amateur musicals. In our early years we were known as Burgess Hill Operatic Society and our productions were dominated by the light operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan such as the Mikado and Pirates of Penzance. As the decades passed, large scale popular musicals such as West’s Side Story, Oklahoma! and Annie Get Your Gun featured heavily in our repertoire and since the turn of the millennium, BHMTS have been wowing audiences with modern, edgier productions including Chess, Jekyll and Hyde, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and the Witches of Eastwick.
Since 2005,we have had a successful and talented youth section and our young performers have put on Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Beauty and the Beast and Les Miserables in recent years.
We are a friendly, happy and inclusive society who love what we do and our friendship and enthusiasm rubs off on our audiences and is reflected in our high quality shows. Everybody at BHMTS pulls together in a big team effort, and our camaraderie and togetherness is what makes our society so special.
